PHOTOGRAPHER SARA LOUISE PETTY AND HER BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS

MORE ABOUT SLP
I grew up on the South Coast of England, where I studied Fashion Design at the University of Westminster, Harrow College of Art. I have enjoyed creating things since I was a young girl; famously making Debbie Harry’s ‘Heart of Glass’ one shoulder dress from a black bin bag when I was just a little girl.
I have a multitude of personal interests including writing, both short stories and poems, designing, interior renovations, gasping at sunsets, nature, hiking, baking and cooking. Photography has been a passion since I was young, as my father was an avid photographer and I was able to operate his Pentax film camera and experiment with it early on.
One of my biggest joys in life is receiving and giving flowers. Flowers instantly bring me joy and happiness, and one of my favorite joys in life is when the local Farmer’s Market opens and on a Saturday morning I head over and pick up a bunch of farm fresh flowers. It became a ritual.
I would arrange the flowers in my vase and loved to admire the delicate tones, and gossamer sheer petals. I began to take a bud or a sprig here and there and experiment with photos on my phone. With playful lighting, I began to see the photos transform into individual pieces of art and my concept for Bloom was born.
